Spanish guitarist composer, Dionisio Agaudo [1784 - 1849] left a rich trove of works spanning from short educational items to concert works. The style of his didactic pieces is essentially classical whilst his later, more adventurous works are classic-romantic. His writing displayed a masterful technique and clear understanding of voice leading on guitar. 

This entertaining set of variations on one of Agaudo's most popular studies imagines it developed in the general style of the era. With a few small nods to harmony from later in the Romantic epoch, the structure and feel of these variations are a homage to the style of Aguado. Playable by good students with secure intermediate technique [Grades 4 - 5 standard].  Accomplished players it find it an entertaining reader with clear historic references.
